"God is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble¨. Psalms 46:1 - August 1,2025
A few years ago I remember having an experience , I was 20 years old at he time, I was staying with a lady in a volatile community in Kingston. something transpired one night and I was told to leave. At that time I had a family member living about an hour away. It was about 11pm that night, whenI left, as I was walking up to the bus stop I saw a gentlemen coming down the road , someone I knew very well, He asked me where I was going, I told him I was going to take a taxi to go to my relative. He said let me walk with you seeing it is so late.
Just about a minute standing at the bus stop I saw two gentlemen crossed the road, coming over to us one of then had a white towel over his hand, to my amazement it was a firearm, they came over to us and asked where we were going, the man who was with said , Im trying to get her on a taxi, they asked him where is your car , he said my car broke down a few blocks around the road I could not get it fixed so I had to walk home. They held the gun to my head , I didn't know what to do , I tried to pray but couldn't find the words, I heard a voice saying to me run, then another voice saying don´t run they are going to shoot you. so I stood there.
One of the gunmen asked the man if he had money on him he went into his pocket and took out the money he had and gave it to him. They then said , take care of the young lady, and then left. I ended up not going that night , because of the trauma I got somewhere to stay till morning. That night I couldn't sleep , I was up thinking how I could have died, If that man car hadn't broke down, I would be the only person walking to that bus stop that night. But God ordained that that It would be so.
David went through many experiences some that could have taken his life had it not been for the anointing and the protection of the Lord over his life. When God have an ordained purpose for your life nothing can take you out before the time. the devil will try but he will not succeed. As Psalms 91:11 -12 declares - For he shall give his angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up. Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
God will be our present help in trouble all we have to do is to look to him , call him, he will
come , let me take this time to encourage someone today no matter what you are going through, no matter the difficulties the storms, he is there with you, he will never leave you nor forsake you . Do not lose hope.
